I recently moved all of my insurance coverage from State Farm to Allstate. Many things that the Allstate agent told me t
I recently moved all of my insurance coverage from State Farm to Allstate. Many things that the Allstate agent told me they would do is send notification to the State Farm agency that I was dropping coverage with them. However the notifications were never sent. This resulted in me getting billed (automatically) for the State Farm policies which I thought had been dropped. So I had to go through the process of notifying State Farm and requesting refunds. Had I known that Allstate was not going to notify State Farm I would have done it myself. Also State Farm did not notify my mortgage company either. So I was contacted by Chase that they were going to buy insurance on my behalf. Perhaps Allstate was unaware of the mortgage , I don’t remember be asked if I had a mortgage on my primary residence. Nevertheless I had to spend time rectifying the situation. It seems that would have been a standard question to be asked by an agent.

I have used Allstate for the past 8 years. Most of that time was when I lived in Prosper, Tx, and Danny Wilson was my Agent. Danny did a fantastic job for us. However, He retired while I was purchasing a home in Denton, Tx.

I also have a family member who's been a lifelong friend of an Allstate Agent, Mark Tucker. When I purchased my Denton home, I selected Mark's agency. His office is close, he's a great person, and therefore I thought his office would be a great replacement for Danny Wilson. I did all the paperwork, signed with Mark's office and thought I was "good to go".

I then was notified that I was being moved to Mayberry Allstate, who I had no clue or any sort of relationship. I called their office and was informed that due to being in Danny's pool of customers, I was split with the rest of the customer base, and was allocated to Mayberry's office. I asked to be moved to Mark Tucker's agency as originally decided and was told "no" by a team member of the Mayberry Agency and could NOT be moved to the Tucker Agency. I had several things going this year and did not move, but I will be moving to another Company since I totally disagree with how I was treated.
