Local Allstate Agent: Meet Duane Dahlheimer

In 2005, I opened my insurance agency to serve individuals and businesses in the community. Prior to starting the agency, I was in senior management of marketing agencies whose customers were major insurance companies and financial institutions. Overall, I’ve worked in the insurance industry since 1987.

I have been a member of the Greensboro and Reidsville communities since 2005 and enjoy how much people truly care for one another. I love being able to interact with customers on a daily basis and have learned that the community is very generous toward one another in both their time and financial resources. Outside of work, I really enjoy outdoor activities like boating, hiking and kayaking.

I have been married to my wife, Diane, since 1988, and we have raised three daughters. The oldest is a teacher at Oakridge Military Academy, while the middle daughter is living and working in Brighten, United Kingdom just south of London. The youngest will be graduating from the University of North Carolina at Greensboro next year from Bryon School of Business.

When I’m not in the office, I love being active in the community. Since the first year I started my agency, I have been an active member of the Reidsville Chamber of Commerce and Rotary Club. I personally love to serve and support local organizations that are focused on aiding children and young adults. Some of my favorites are Camp Carefree for children with chronic illnesses, Freedom House for recovering mothers with young children and Black Mountain Children’s Home for children without parents.

Support for Freedom House

Helping people is at the core of what my agency does which is why we proudly spent time assisting Freedom House. Freedom House purchased land, and I was excited to help harvest strawberries to sell to the community. Because of our volunteerism, The Allstate Foundation provided a $500 Helping Hands grant to support the efforts of Freedom House which seeks to help women overcome their addictions through counseling and support while living with their children in a home provided by Freedom House. My team recognizes the challenges facing people in Greensboro, and we’re excited to be associated with this amazing organization.

Allstate Foundation Helping Hands Grant for Little Pink Houses

Our team believes that helping others makes the Burlington stronger and healthier. Through our volunteerism, we are proud to have earned Little Pink Houses a $25,000 Allstate Foundation Helping Hands grant. We support its efforts to promote breast cancer recovery by offering opportunities for survivors to reconnect and celebrate life in the community.

Allstate Foundation Grant for the Greensboro Hospice and Palliative Center

The Greensboro Hospice and Palliative Center recently received a $19,000 Allstate Foundation Helping Hands in the Community grant on our behalf to continue their efforts of supporting those affected by serious illness or death. Giving back to our local community through volunteerism is tremendously rewarding and gives our team a sense of purpose. We believe when we help others our communities are stronger and healthier, which is why we’re proud to support the Greensboro Hospice and Palliative Center’s work.
At the beginning of 2017, Allstate held the Southeast Region Forum in Atlanta. While there we had the opportunity to hear Tim Tebow speak about his foundation along the good work we do with the Allstate Charitable organization. Lastly, we toured the College Football Hall of Fame. I played football at Plymouth University and it was fun to see that my teammate, Joe Dudek was inducted into the Hall.
Allstate agent, Duane Dahlheimer partnered with the Daystar Church to go on a mission trip to Jamaica. While there he built relationships with churches, schools, and the locals. Duane spent his time creating gardens, helping patients in the nursing home, and reading to children.
Over the Thanksgiving Holiday, two of our staff members, Patricia Blevins, and Kristie Tuck took a trip together with their families to Gatlinburg Tennessee. Here is a picture of them with their families with the beautiful Tennessee Mountains in the background. We are so glad that they made it home safely before the wildfire that they captured in this picture spread to Gatlinburg the next day!

Thankful to Live in America

During Thanksgiving Duane visited family in New Jersey and went to see the Liberty Bell in Philadelphia. Being next to such a historic object was truly a surreal experience for him.

"Helping Hands in the Community Grant"
