Local Allstate Agent: Meet Ed Mena

In 2014, I opened my agency in Austin, Texas, after purchasing an existing agency. Austin is known for its live music, cool bars and exceptional barbecue and restaurants, but I mostly enjoy Austin for its outdoor adventures. My two youngest sons and I lead a busy life here, and we appreciate every minute of it. When we aren’t at a team practice or a game for one of the many sports my boys play, you can find us in the stands at Longhorn football games yelling, “Hook ‘em, ‘Horns!”

When I graduated from the University of Texas in 1987, I began my career with Allstate. I worked in Dallas as an agent and then was promoted to Chicago to work for Allstate’s home office in Northbrook, Illinois. I left Allstate in 1996 and spent several years working as a senior executive for a U.S. multi-national insurance company based in Panama, Chile, Mexico and finally in Miami, where I was responsible for a $1.6 billion operation with 3,200 employees. I now bring my unique global experience to my work in helping customers protect what matters most to them.

Community service is important to me. I’m actively involved in the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC). I’ve also been a public speaker advocating Internet safety for children. Through an Allstate Helping Hands grant, I was able to contribute a $1000 community service award to the NCMEC. I also serve as a board member and ambassador for the West Austin Chamber of Commerce.

Stop by my office in Austin. I look forward to getting to know you.

Texas Heroes for Children Gala

I’m so thankful for my wonderful community here in Austin and try to give back as much as possible. To support the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children’s efforts, I helped sponsor a table at the 2018 Texas Heroes for Children Gala. The gala is the Texas Regional Office’s biggest celebration and fundraiser. Additionally, I was honored to be one of the featured speakers at the 2017 event. This year’s gala is being held on Nov. 14 from 6-10 p.m. at Brazos Hall, 204 E. 4th St. in Austin. If you’d like to support the effort to provide safety education to children, families, schools and the larger community throughout Texas, please contact the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children for information.

National Center for Missing and Exploited Children Receives Allstate Foundation Helping Hands Grant

I’m proud to give my time to help my local community thrive and enable people to realize their hopes and dreams. I recently volunteered at the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children to support its mission to help prevent child abductions, locate missing children and stop child victimization. To honor my volunteerism, The Allstate Foundation gave a $20,000 Helping Hands Grant to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children.

We’re Hiring!

Want to work closer to home? One of the best parts of being a Sales Professional at my Allstate Agency is the ability to work locally and better serve the community. If you’re interested in a career like this, feel free to get in touch.

National Center for Missing and Exploited Children Receives Allstate Foundation Helping Hands Grant

By volunteering at a charity golf tournament, we earned the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children a $17,000 Allstate Foundation Helping Hands grant that will aid the organization’s intentions to prevent abduction, exploitation and abuse of children. We see firsthand the opportunities and challenges facing our area, which is why we believe in the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children’s work. We’re proud to be among thousands of Allstate volunteers around the country who care for their communities by supporting important local causes.
