Local Allstate Agent: Meet Elizabeth (Lisa) Jusino

"

My parents came to Chicago to make a better life for our family, and I couldn’t be prouder of them. I graduated from Curie High School and Columbia College before starting my career with Allstate as an underwriter. I worked my way up until I was ready to open my first agency in the community that I love. My husband, who is a Chicago firefighter, and I live here with our son and daughter.

I work in insurance because I want to make a difference in the community. I can help people protect what matters most; from cars and condos to life insurance and saving for college or retirement. And Allstate encourages the charitable work that I love. I’m fighting homelessness as a member of the San Jose Obrero Mission board of directors, and I am part of Allstate’s team to help end domestic violence. My agency supports a new charitable effort every 90 days that customers help select. We participate in annual coat drives for local school children and celebrate Dia de los Muertos each year by running the Carrera de Los Muertos 5K race.

My team and I love the people in this community, and we’re proud that so many customers refer their friends and neighbors to us. We’d love to talk to you about what's important in your life and how we can assist you with coverage decisions that fit your budget. Call or stop by today — we’re in East Pilsen, just down the street from the University of Illinois at Chicago.

Standing Up to Financial Abuse in Chicago

Allstate Foundation Purple Purse is making the invisible weapon of financial abuse visible with a national street art campaign. Chicago has one of these murals at 1438 North Milwaukee Avenue, crafted by Laura Asta and I stopped by for a photo to demonstrate my support. If you visit, take a photo at the mural and post it to Instagram using the “Moon” filter to reveal a special hidden message about financial abuse. Since 2005, Allstate Foundation Purple Purse has empowered more than 1.3 million survivors on the road to safety and security from domestic violence.

Call to Action for Youth Leaders, Mentors, Teachers.

As the beautiful citizens that we are of our beloved Chicago, working with youth at identifying peaceful solutions is a must. I'm proud of Allstate taking a stand and consistently stepping forward to support these efforts. The Allstate Foundation teamed up with Peace First, a youth organization, to launch the challenge. Applications are due Feb. 10th. The ultimate goal is to give young peacemakers access to digital tools, mentors and $100,000 in funding. The Peace First Challenge runs through May 12. Ten teams will be chosen to come to Chicago in June to showcase their ideas at the first-ever Allstate Foundation youth innovation summit. Young people participate in teams of at least three, with an adult serving as a mentor or facilitator. Each team has access to financial support with Allstate Foundation mini-grants up to $250. Actual dollar amounts will be determined by project needs. Click learn more for information.

Watch the Burgo's Famiiy Story from the National broadcast of WE Day

The WE Movement empowers young people to drive positive change in the world. I was happy to support Christian Burgos and his cause to stop violence in Chicago. In 2014, Christian’s sister Alexandria Imani Burgos lost her life due to a senseless act of gun violence when Alexandria was struck down by a stray bullet. Because of Christian’s steadfast commitment to peace and in honor of Christian’s sister, Allstate presented a $10,000 grant to support the Community Peace Project. In Memory of Alexandria, Let Us Raise Other Heroes

In 2014, Alexandria Imani Burgos attended Wilbur Wright College where she was a freshman working to complete her studies to become a Social Worker. Tragically, her family and our community lost an innocent 18-year-old due to a senseless act of gun violence when Alexandria was struck down by a stray bullet. Our agency will donate $10 to Alexandria Imani Burgos Scholarship on your behalf for every recommendation you send our way, and we'll add you to our monthly drawing for a $50 Gift Card. Part of my job is educating customers about the importance of having the right insurance, but I never imagined I'd have to make a claim on my own insurance! In this video, I talk about personal property coverage and how it helped me recover after my own home was broken into. I also explain why it’s important to have a home inventory, and how it may help if you ever need to make a claim. Click learn more to watch my video!

Life Insurance Beneficiaries for Singles

If you’re single and considering your beneficiary options for a life insurance policy, don’t worry — you have plenty of options. Typically, the customers I work with designate their children, parents or other relatives as their life insurance beneficiaries. However, you may also choose a charity, your business or your estate. You also have the option of naming multiple beneficiaries. If you change your mind later, you can also change your beneficiaries — just give me a call.
