Allstate is great until you actually have a claim. My experience has been a nightmare. My agent was completely unresponsive, never called back personally, and provided zero advocacy.

The claims department was even worse. After my contractor submitted an estimate on Oct 15, it took two months of "tactical" silence to get any movement. They ignored over nine follow-up attempts while my home sat in disrepair. This follows another botched roof claim, showing a clear pattern of incompetence.

I only saw progress after threatening a Georgia DOI complaint and demanding a new adjuster. The new representative finally acknowledged massive discrepancies in the original payout, including missing overhead, profit, and proper measurements. Allstate happily takes your premiums but ignores you during a crisis. Avoid them if you want a company that actually fulfills its policy obligations.

My adjuster wasn’t great, which is a shame because I’ve had good experiences in the past.

She sends me emails, but never directly answers any of my questions. She showed up 30-45 min late for my appointment, demanded that my husband make her coffee, and sat at my kitchen counter for over an hour doing her work- while barely speaking to my husband.. she left us with more questions than answers, and after this is over, we will be shopping for insurance. We’ve been customers for decades- and I’m over this adjuster.

I’m searching for my own public adjuster now.
