How Kenneth Morgan inherited his father's drive to do good for customers.

Dad founded his agency in 1966.

My Dad's Allstate booth

was at Sears, across from a candy store.

I love malted milk balls. Dad would always walk me over to the candy shop and buy a bag of them.

I resisted the family business at first, and instead became a U.S. Army Paratrooper.

When my service neared its end, I faced big decisions. I called Dad. Without hesitation, he said I could work for him.

He told me, "Take care of the customer. Do that one thing, and the rest takes care of itself."

His advice was simple but it resonated with me. It was a trusted advisor approach before trusted advisor was a thing.

He was a brilliant man.
