Welcome to the Hovland agency! My name is Steve and I am the agency owner. I originally hail from Riverside, and have lived in the Chula Vista area since 1987. I attended Riverside Poly High School in my youth and graduated in 1986 from Cal Poly, Pomona. I began working a Life Insurance Salesperson in 1994 and then opened my own agency in 2003. When I’m not at the agency I enjoy surfing, snow skiing, mountain biking and play golf. I am also a big motorsports fan and what some may consider to be a “wannabe Grand Prix Driver.”
I also love giving back to the community by getting involved. I have been involved in Challenger Baseball and Sports for Exceptional Athletes for over 20 years. I also volunteer for various free medical clinics including CDA Cares (California Dental Assoc.) and California CareForce that offer free dental, medical and vision care for less fortunate. It’s a great feeling to help those in need and I enjoy the opportunity to interact with so many different types of people.
One of my favorite things about being an Allstate agent is the friendships I have formed over the years. I have laughed and cried with many customers and it brings me so much joy knowing how important our conversations are.
