I'm a second-generation Allstate Insurance Agent. My father, Rex Shreve, was an Allstate Agent for 27 years, and although he's retired, he still makes an occasional appearance. He just can't stay away.
He owned the a well known department store back when Allstate agents worked them. The agent at that time wanted to retire and asked my father if he would like the opportunity. The rest, as they say, is history. He started his journey in 1992 and proudly helped protect Defiance and the surrounding area until 2019. Rex officially stepped down, and I took over on October 1, 2019.
I'm no rookie, though. I was a member of his agency staff since 2001, so I had almost 20 years of experience before I took the leap. I have large shoes to fill, but I know I made the right decision. You could say it's in my blood. My father, mother, and sister have all worked in the agency. I love this job.
