I was raised and still reside in Nowata. It�s about fifty minutes Northeast of Owasso and borders Coffeyville, Kansas. People sometimes ask why I don�t live closer to my work. I just smile and say, �I�m a country girl. I l
I was raised and still reside in Nowata. It�s about fifty minutes Northeast of Owasso and borders Coffeyville, Kansas. People sometimes ask why I don�t live closer to my work. I just smile and say, �I�m a country girl. I live on an acreage near Oologah Lake. More often than not, when I look out my window, I have deer, quail, or turkey in my yard. I�ve even spotted a bobcat a few times and a mountain lion once! Yes, it is a drive, but it�s where I call my home�
I don�t have any �two-legged� children, but I do have three Shih-Tzu�s that allow me to dwell in their home. I also enjoy fishing and knitting (not at the same time!). I like 4X4 trucks, fast horses and faster cars. During my much younger years, I was a barrel racer and do still enjoy a good rodeo.
Insurance was not my first love, but it is my last. I studied Computer Electronics Engineering in college and worked in that industry in Tulsa until the economy busted in the late 1980�s-early 1990�s. That was when I met�.Michael and Terri Watson.
I responded to an advertisement for a receptionist position in an insurance office in Owasso. Terri was expecting their identical twin sons within a few months and they needed office help.
I was hired in 1990. I discovered an affinity for sales and the Insurance field. I began my formal training and received my Property and Casualty Producer�s License enabling me to begin my career as a trusted Allstate agent and Sales Producer. I also hold CISR (Certified Insurance Service Representative) and CIC (Certified Insurance Counselor) designations. I then received my Life Insurance Producer�s License, allowing me to further assist customers in protecting their families.
In 2016, I was given the honor of leading a Life Insurance workshop at the First Annual Allstate LSP (Licensed Sales Producer) Forum in Oklahoma City. That was a definite high point in my life. I also watched with admiration as awards in different categories were claimed. When it came to the last award, the First Annual Oklahoma LSP of the Year-Southwest Region 2016, you can imagine my surprise as I heard a biography being read by Allstate Leadership that sounded shockingly familiar. Unbeknown, Michael had nominated me for this award� The information being read was written by Michael! That was a once in a lifetime honor that I do my best to re-earn every day!
Two years later, I was given the 2018 Lifesaver-Bronze Award. It�s the most humbling and best part of my job description-being able to help protect customers loved ones!
I�ve been the Operation�s Manager/Leader for Michael Watson�s A Great Rate Insurance Agency for a good number of years. I enjoy my position immensely! Most people that I know absolutely dread a storm, bad weather, etc. � knowing there will be chances of property damage and car mishaps. I�m not fond of it either, but that�s our time to shine! I love being able to help customers in times of crisis by seeing they know we have them safe and secure in �Good Hands.� Our job only begins when the contract is signed; the proof of our commitment rises to the surface at the time of a claim, during a claim, and after a claim.

As a result, I learned to adapt rather easily to change, even difficult ones. My Father was a dedicated worker, had great strength of character, and was honest to a fault. He set a very high standard and was definitely a "hard act to follow."
Family is very important to me! My son and grandson both remind me of my Father. Their dedication, character, and honesty are all a part of their daily walk. I am thankful for this rich inheritance that has been passed down from through the generation of the men that are so important in my life!
I've always loved meeting new people and interacting with others. I worked in Restaurant Management for several years, then moved to New Account Sales and Business Support with a major Car Rental Company for just shy of 30 years. While there, I managed an ever-changing portfolio of Small to Mid-Sized Business Accounts, receiving several awards for New Account Revenue in excess of $1 Million Dollars annually. It was an exciting time in my professional career. When my role there ended, I was not yet ready to retire.
One afternoon, in September of 2017, after a short prayer, asking God to lead me where He wanted, I made a call to the A Great Rate Insurance Agency, and spoke with the Manager, Libby Taylor. There was no need to look further!
Although they were not currently hiring, she invited me into the office for a meeting. A few days later I met with the owner, Michael Watson. During the interviews, they both had indicated that the A Great Rate Agency Staff was a �family.� I can attest to you, there is great truth in that statement!
The levels of care, compassion, and concern my new employers have expressed to me, are unmatched in the business world today! The last few months of 2018 have been very challenging; losing my brother and nephew within a few weeks of each other. During my brother's decline, not only did Michael and Libby assure me that I could take as much time as needed, but Libby also personally drove me across Oklahoma and part of Texas so I could be with my brother and family, prior to his passing! I am so very blessed to be working with such a great group of people at A Great Rate Insurance Agency! God, Family, Work! It doesn't get any better than this! There truly is so much �More to A Great Rate than price!"

This was due to Farmers sending a letter stating our insurance had been cancelled, which we had. However, the Allstate agent didn't notify them we had purchased new insurance. I�ve been the Operation�s Manager/Leader for Michael Watson�s A Great Rate Insurance Agency for a good number of years. I enjoy my position immensely! Most people that I know absolutely dread a storm, bad weather, etc. � knowing there will be chances of property damage and car mishaps. I�m not fond of it either, but that�s our time to shine! I was born in southern Oklahoma, to the most wonderful parents imaginable! My Father worked on highway construction, so we moved a lot, following the work crew from one job to the next. As a result, I learned to adapt rather easily to change, even difficult ones. My Father was a dedicated worker, had great strength of character, and was honest to a fault. He set a very high standard and was definitely a "hard act to follow."
Family is very important to me! My son and grandson both remind me of my Father. Their dedication, character, and honesty are all a part of their daily walk. I am thankful for this rich inheritance that has been passed down from through the generation of the men that are so important in my life!
I've always loved meeting new people and interacting with others. I worked in Restaurant Management for several years, then moved to New Account Sales and Business Support with a major Car Rental Company for just shy of 30 years. While there, I managed an ever-changing portfolio of Small to Mid-Sized Business Accounts, receiving several awards for New Account Revenue in excess of $1 Million Dollars annually. It was an exciting time in my professional career. When my role there ended, I was not yet ready to retire.
One afternoon, in September of 2017, after a short prayer, asking God to lead me where He wanted, I made a call to the A Great Rate Insurance Agency, and spoke with the Manager, Libby Taylor. There was no need to look further!
Although they were not currently hiring, she invited me into the office for a meeting. A few days later I met with the owner, Michael Watson. During the interviews, they both had indicated that the A Great Rate Agency Staff was a �family.� I can attest to you, there is great truth in that statement!
The levels of care, compassion, and concern my new employers have expressed to me, are unmatched in the business world today! The last few months of 2018 have been very challenging; losing my brother and nephew within a few weeks of each other. During my brother's decline, not only did Michael and Libby assure me that I could take as much time as needed, but Libby also personally drove me across Oklahoma and part of Texas so I could be with my brother and family, prior to his passing! I am so very blessed to be working with such a great group of people at A Great Rate Insurance Agency! God, Family, Work! It doesn't get any better than this!
