I was born and raised in Jacksonville, Florida. My husband, James, and our son, Rodney Richards, and I love Jacksonville’s great weather, beaches and parks. I end each workweek by fishing on the Jacksonville Beach Pier. I keep some of my catches in a freezer at my agency for customers who like fish, too.

I began working at an Allstate agency in 2001 and became an agent in 2010. In that time, I’ve especially enjoyed informing people about auto, home and life insurance as well as annuities and business insurance. At my agency, customers are not just a policy number — they are family.

A big part of why I am an agent is due to my own family’s experience. My mom thought she was doing the right things to be sure we didn’t have to bear any financial burden after she died. But the day of her funeral, I remember the added pain of learning she didn’t have enough life insurance to cover the costs. Since then, I’ve put my heart and soul into helping other families avoid that pain.

I believe I was put on this Earth to help others as much as I can. I’m a hospice volunteer and a volunteer at a thrift shop for Hubbard House, which helps battered women. I also donate to St. Jude’s Hospital, the Wounded Warrior Project and The Salvation Army. I’m active with Impact Church in Jacksonville, and I am a member of the Berkeley County Alumnae Chapter, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. in Moncks Corner, South Carolina.
